For the past 35 years, my father has worked out religiously 7 days a week at the Ottawa YMCA. Health and fitness activities were a big part of our family’s weekly routine. Whether it was our Sunday afternoon run at the Sportsplex or Saturday morning at the martial arts academy, we’ve been fitness nuts since day one. It was my brother Robb who got me interested in martial arts, fitness and weight-training. I used to watch him kick butt in karate tournaments before I ever wore my first white belt and it was his constant weightlifting sessions in the basement that got me interested in strength training.
From those early beginnings, I have gone on to seek training from various leaders in the fitness industry. My areas of expertise include formulating nutrition plans, aerobic and anaerobic fitness exercises, weight lifting, sport-specific and high performance training regimens and, of course, all forms of martial arts fitness training. In 2003, I combined these disciplines to form the Xtreme Body Transformation Course (XBT).
